1/18/99 MEETING REPORT
Maynard Hirsch, Diana Gonzales, Steven Selan and Sharon Anderson called the meeting to order at 8:05 P.M.
47 members were present; 2 new members, William Lee and David Reva, attended the meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
Elections:
Election results were announced by the Club Secretary Steve Selan. The officers for this year will remain the same. The election results were very close with only a few votes separating the three candidates for Club President.
Dues:
Club Secretary Steve Selan reported that dues will remain at $18 for the year 1999 and that they were now officially due. All dues must be in by April 1, 1999. After that date unpaid members will be dropped from the roster.
Membership Roster:
Club Secretary Steve Selan announced that the new Membership Rosters were mailed during the last week of December. If you have not yet received your Roster, please contact him, and another copy will be sent to you. If you wish to purchase additional copies of the Roster, they are $3.00 if you pick them up or $5.00 if you wish them mailed.
NEW BUSINESS
Tech Sessions:
Jake and Ann Snyder
and Bill Hedrick announced they would be attending John Twist's
Technical Seminars in Grand Rapids, Michigan. You are welcome to
discuss with them pointers they may have picked up.
Librarian's Report:
David Bralich announced that two new videos on carburetor repair
and engine rebuilding have been added to the Club library and are
available for loan.
Tool Master:
Jim Evans advised
that a kingpin reemer is being sought through the generosity of
Moss Motors, hopeflilly free of charge. Jim also announced he is
seeking volunteers to help him run the Swap Meet on February 28,
1999 at the Dupage County Fairgrounds. We have been getting a lot
of publicity for this event, and we expect a huge turnout! Please
contact Jim at 630-858-8192 if you are able to help.
50-50 Raffle:
This was won by Dave Tucker; Dave Bralich also walked away with a copy of a great MG book which he has donated to the Club Library.
Evening Program:
Representatives from DentBusters put on an excellent demonstration
of paintless dent removal. We have discount coupons available for
our membership. Contact Club Secretary for same. We highly recommend
this procedure for small dents.
