How To Be A Good Motorist
Harold Pemberton
1923, 86 pages, hardbound
This is a small 3 ½ x 5 inch book that won’t take up much valuable space, even in a Midget. Originally published in 1923, it is a primer for new motorists. (I think that this was Maynard’s text when he was a driver’s ed. student) The book covers such topics as brakes, skid control, spares including insulating (duct) tape and bailing wire, engine problems (spark or fuel), and female drivers. “When driving, look on all other motorists as fools.” Some things never change, although the chapter on going wireless may have a different meaning today.
