My Greatest Race
Edited by Adrian Ball
1974, hardbound, 139 pages,b&w photos
Twenty vignettes written by famous race drivers of the past about what they considered to be their greatest race. Examples include Mario Andretti with his 1969 Indy race, Count Giovanni Lurani with a class win in the 1933 Mille Miglia in an MG, and my favorite driver, Graham Hill winning his 3rd Monaco in a row. Some of the drivers felt that their greatest race wasn't even a win at all. Stirling Moss, Fangio, Hulme, Stewart; they're all here. Plenty of period photos.
This book was compiled as a fund raiser for the Jim Clark Foundation, "promoting and assisting research into auto safety both on the highway and racing track"
