The Art of Racing in the Rain
By Garth Stein
2008, hardbound, 321 pages
OK, this novel has absolutely nothing to do with MGs, and next to nothing to do with sporstcars in general except for the fact that the protagonist of the book is an up and coming driver who has aspirations of driving in the Formula One circus. This is the story of his family while he tries to get there.
Not a lot of racing or car stuff, but what there is is credible. Did I mention that the narrator of this story is the hero’s dog, Enzo? Cat people may not get it. But then again they already have plenty of issues of their own. Have a hanky ready for the last couple of chapters.
