      1953 MG TD For Sale

      1953 MG TD; XPAG/TD2/19217, TD/18864 EXL/NA; Build Date: 19-Aug-1952.
Original ID plate and octagonal engine ID tag, all numbers match. Ivory exterior with green interior. Very nice looking and driving TD. Current owner purchased car in March 1973!
In 1986 the body was disassembled and stripped to bare metal, primed, and repainted in the original color of ivory (cream). The body was reassembled, and fitted with new interior panels, leather seats, hood (top), full tonneau, and side curtains using Moss items and kits. The interior was redone in the original color of green. The hood (top), tonneau, and side curtains are tan canvas Stayfast. Owner did the disassembly and reassembly. The paint presents well with minor paint chips. The interior, hood (top), tonneau, and side curtains are in excellent condition.
No rust was found during disassembly. One small dent was repaired in each rear fender, and an antennae hole was repaired in the rear splash apron. The wood top rail over the windscreen, and the 3-piece wood tacking strip set were replaced. The rest of the wood was found to be in excellent condition.
This TD is a solid car and a strong runner and used regularly during summer months. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt. The master cylinder and wheel cylinders have been replaced. The fuel tank was cleaned and coated. Items rebuilt: SU carbs, fuel pump, water pump (with 6-vane impeller), and rear shocks. It has a stainless-steel exhaust; tires are 2-years old; and battery is 1-year old.
A rare Runyon fiberglass hardtop with side curtains and mounting hardware is included.
      Asking $21,500 or offer.
