In Remembrance of – William B. “Wilbur” Mennell 1950 – 2023
The CMGC is saddened to announce that
longtime member Bill Mennell passed away February 26th.
Bill was born on December 3, 1950, in Maywood, IL. He grew up in Maywood and graduated from Proviso East High School, class of 1969 and from the College of DuPage in 1975.
Bill was a member of the CMGC since 1995 and was regularly present at the monthly club meetings and events along with helping organize the annual Spring Tune up for the club.
He was a Deputy Sheriff for DuPage County in Illinois for a number of years. He was a paid on-call Lieutenant for Warrenville Fire Protection District and later became one of their trustees.
He married Debra Shimp on November 19, 1982, in Wheaton, IL. They made their home in Warrenville, IL., before moving to Mercer, Wisc., after their retirement.
There will be a Celebration of Life in Warrenville to reminisce and celebrate his life well-lived. Details will be shared as soon as they are available.
