Barney,
As you were maintaining a page for this tour, I thought I would pass the following sad news I received from Nigel this afternoon about the condition the cars arrived back home. A very sad ending to what they considered a good trip. Even with insurance it is hard to put a car back into the original condition. What a heart breaker.
>Hi Bob

>Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I have been sorting out the cars return this week. I am sorry to say that five of the cars were badly damaged on-route home. The boat struck the hurricane in the Atlantic and all hell broke lose and so did the Rolls of it's straps, it bounced around the four cars next to it. The XK was struck fifteen times in the rear, my Jag was behind and was struck on the front corner ripping off the wing etc. this pushed mine into the MG and wrecked both our sides, the Rolls went on to trash the side of one of the Bentleys. The end result was a wright off for the Rolls - all panels and chrome bent, lights smashed. Mine and Mikes Jag are now at a Jag specialist on the South coast awaiting repair, estimate for out two so far exceed £10K. Time of return some time next year. It was the best £64 worth of insurance (marine) I have ever taken out!

Hello Everyone
Just a note to let you know the cars arrived in Southampton last week and five of them had sustained substantial damage onboard the ship from the USA. The Rolls Royce broke free in a hurricane and collided with the other cars next to it. At this time it is believed the Rolls is a total write off.
I thought you might like to to see a few video grabs of the damage. files attached.
