The MGA With An Attitude
SPEEDOMETER MODELS for MGA - ST-110
There were at least three dozen different Smiths-Jaeger speedometers used for MGA, grouped under two dozen differnet BMC part numbers. Aside from MPH, KPH, and two different face styles, there would be a different speedometer for each different final drive ratio available in the rear axle. Additionally there were speedometers with special accuracy for police use.

NOTES:
1.) The change in Smiths numbers from 6104 to 6161 occurred in September 1958. This refers to a change of internal speedometer gearing related to revolutions per mile.
2.) There was no speedometer available for rear axle ratio 5.125:1 which was optional for the Twin Cam for competition use. That specification would be about 1725 Turns/Mile or 1075 Turns/Kilometer.
O.) Optional final drive for Competition use.
P.) Accurate for police use.
S.) Standard final drive ratio.
S2.) Standard final drive ratio for 1600-MK-II.
*. ) Some of the Turns Per Mile or Turns Per Kilometer numbers are calculated, not yet verified. If anyone can verify different numbers, please let me know.
