Revell 1/18 scale die cast. Limited production run 1000 pieces in 2013.
Tin car from an antique mall (Japan).
Another RAE model, this time an MGA 1600 Coupe in Tyrolite Green (with Twin Cam or "Deluxe" wheels). Unopened, original box, on eBay UK in February 2021.
Slot Cars:
How about VIP Roadway slot cars from the late 1950s. This set included a BRG MGA and a red Healey. The "VIP Model Roadway" slot cars are a bit larger scale than current Scalextric slot cars but could still be used on current Scalextric type track. They were very well made for the era, and can be found still on eBay, often in fine condition. They look great in a display cabinet!

It's illegal to own in California, so I guess it will have to be destroyed. Maybe by incineration : ) I really like the caution label. I may have to laminate it and stick it on the dash of my MGA".

Wind-Up Toy

"I bought in an antique shop this week what looks very like my MGA Coupe. It is a windup/clockwork model car and there is a red wheel on the underside which makes me think it was designed to run on some kind of track. No makers mark anywhere except 'made in Japan'. It does go when wound up".
"It isn't the most accurate representation of an MGA Coupe I've seen, but there are distinct similarities".
Yeah, it looks vaguely like an MGA.
Not intended to be an accurate car model, just a child's wind-up toy.
The young child playing with it, back in the day, would likely have no idea what the original MGA looks like.

"Further investigation has shown that they were sold by a NY toy company called Shackman, and they were indeed an early remote control car controlled by a long spring/running key. See attached photos of a similar but same principle version of the car to the one I bought that was sold at auction a while back. -- Tim
Notice the peg shaft sticking out of the bonnet, to connect a flexible cable for steering by the child walking along side of the moving wind-up toy.
