Driver's Corner

St. George's Gymkhana
Our first Autocross of the season will be on April 23 at the Warrenville AMC 30 Theater parking lot, on Winfield Road between I-88 and Diehl Road, the same place we've been having them. We'll start with a driver's meeting at about 9:00 am and go for a half-dozen or so runs. The course layout will be simple, so this will be a great chance to come and shake the cobwebs out of the car and the driver, and satisfy that yearning for a spirited drive that a drive around the block cannot satisfy.
Entry fee for the Autocross is still $15 per driver. Seat belts and a safe car are required, subject to a brief tech inspection. Bring a safety helmet if you have one, or a few loaners may be available. NO race tires, please; we don't want to wear out our welcome here. We'll retire to a local restaurant afterwards to "evaluate" our performances.
Other area LBC clubs have been invited so come on out and defend MG's sporting name! Hope to see you there!
Spring Tour to Road America
On May 20, we'll be taking a scenic drive up to the Road America Race Track. Why May 20? There will be vintage racing, a barbecue, a car show, we'll be driving the route of the original race course, and there will be other attractions for everybody. Normally, I'd say get that MG out, but after talking to the Road America people, this sounds like a real good event for the whole family, so if the MG can't hold the whole family take the family truckster and roll down the windows. More details will be in the next Driveline.
