The Rallye Corner
We are in the driving season and going strong. The latest was the Miata invitational. There were nine MG pilots testing their steeds. This was set up on fathers day by the Miata club with our club invited.
The course was at Zion-Benton high school. I had a little trouble following the course. So I slowed down and finally got a time entered. They use a computerized timing system that works great but cost a lot. The course was slippery and I did the whole thing broadsliding my GT. That was kind of cool. Race tires did nothing for you on this course. Street tires seemed to dig in better.
Barney Gaylord our own editor turned in the fastest MG time of the day. Jack McIlvain did very well as he normally does in his Midget.
There is something about the smell of brakes, oil, clutch, and rubber that starts my blood pumping. I guess I am just hooked.
See you at the next event it should be fun.
Keep the rubber side down,
Mike Olsen
PS Jack McIlvain please call me or Dave Bralich as we have awards you won.
