The Steering Column
First off I need to apologize to all of you about the delay in last month’s (June) Driveline. We had an administrative whoops and hopefully will not happen again.
So now it’s already the beginning of July. Why is it that winter drags on and on, while summer just zooms by? There are two events coming up that I always look forward to. The first is the Road America Camping trip. This year brings me a new viewpoint of the event. Instead of watching the racing MG’s on the track from the grand strands. I will be on the track, inside my car, number 31. This is my second year of racing but only my first time at this event. This is a great track to watch the action but it is even a greater sensation being in the middle of it all. If you have never been to Road America, please give it a lot of thought and join the club (and me) at the track the weekend of July 19th.
The second event of the summer is Abingdon. I have to admit, that before I started racing, the Road America Camping trip was second on my list of favorites club activities with the Abingdon weekend getaway being my favorite. The entire weekend is just plain fun. From the scenic caravan drive down on Friday morning to the final Sunday Morning breakfast goodbyes. I wish that all of you would come on down for this event. I know that is not going to happen but it would be great to sit down at the end of each day with all of my MG friends.
Until next month (or driving event) “Safety Fast” to all of you.
