21st British Car Festival
September 9, 2007 - Palos Hills, Illinois
at Moraine Valley Community College
Many club members attended the 21st British Car Festival at Moraine Valley College on September 9th. The weather was excellent throughout the day, and the show committee had put together an appealing agenda of tech sessions, entertainment and vendors to add to the enjoyment. One MGB owner donated the use of his canopy for club regalia sales and membership recruiting. By the end of the day, club members had received trophies in several areas and a good time was had by all. Optional with this event was the traditional gimmick rally conducted on Saturday by the Austin Healey club, and several of our members also attended and won trophies.
CMGC member Tom Raddatz shown with his RV8. This is a very unique model. There are only three or four of these fine “specimens” in the US.
Addendum, October 6, 2007:
Just a note to say thanks for the photo and the kind words about my car. However, don't want to complain but I believe your information is incorrect. As far as I know, my MG RV8 is the only original factory built MG RV8 in the country. I do know of a clone that was built (quite nicely) by a guy in Ohio. I've heard many people say they "Heard about one", but no one can verify that there are any others here. So until someone proves otherwise, my MG RV8 is the "only" one in the US. Thanks again for the kind words. -- Tom Raddatz
