Every year on Christmas morning I awake early, look outside at the driveway, then rush out and peer into the garage to see if Santa has brought me a new Jaguar. A new XK-R. A convertible or a coupe? Perhaps both? Color? Probably not red, that is best reserved for egotists that own (but seldom drive) Ferraris. Jaguars should be tastefully understated, black, gun-metal grey, or BRG. And of course a proper transmixer with a clutch pedal, not some girlie automatic with paddle shifters. With apologies to Lewis Hamilton, I’ll mash my own gears, thank you very much. But who am I kidding, I’d be happy with one even if it was yellow. But alas, it has not come to be. Even on the year that I was mostly nice and not naughty. This year I’ve toned it down and put ‘only’ an F-Type on my Christmas list. And it doesn’t have to be the 550+HP R model. I always have Deb proof read these articles before I submit them to Victor for publication, so maybe she’ll get the hint.
This year it happened! Christmas morning finds a new F-Type. Chinese red but what the heck. It’s a little smaller that I had hoped, apparently Hot Wheels only come in 1/64th scale.
May some of your Holiday wishes also come true, especially the smaller ones. They can be the most important.
