While my favorite day has come and gone, Winter continues to put its icy grip ion us. So, you might be thinking, ‘what is my favorite day -- Christmas? New Years? Hanukkah? Kwanzaa?” While all of these are wonderful Days to celebrate My Favorite is The WINNER SOLSTICE! So Why you may ask why would I pick such an obscure day of the year for my favorite. Well as you may know after the Winter SOLSTICE the Days begin to get longer and longer. Light is returning, Spring is getting closer and the Driving season drawers nearer.

While still in the midst of Winters Clutch it could be time to consider the condition of your own Clutch. (like that play on words?) Well evidently, I found my way onto Santa’s Nice List. Not quite sure how but He was very Generous his year. My wife got a new Stainless-Steel Exhaust system for Her 1966 Mustang GT and I got parts for my MGs. The mustard "B" (as Sparky calls it) received a new dash, carpet kit, (moss Europe of course) sound deadening and a 1" front sway bar to replace the 7/8" bar which got bent when the floor jack slipped off the crossmember. Luckily it didn't hit the radiator. The Blue V8 "B" gets a new low-profile air cleaner and shorter Mallory distributor which will hopefully permit a stock bonnet to replace the cowl bonnet that's on the car now. Kerry, I mean The First Lady doesn't like "the bump" in the bonnet. Personally, I think it looks Great but what do I know about cars anyway. I guess it would give the Blue V8 "B" a sleeper look but the sounds a dead give-away.

I hope everyone had wonderful holidays and thanks for you vote and support if I've in fact been re-elected. Cheers !

SAFTY FAST

from our Vice-President

I took my MG out last week to top off the tank and put a couple of miles on her. I like to start my car every week or so even during the winter. It helps keep seals from leaking, the battery charged and it’s good to see some signs of life from my MG. This winter hasn’t been too bad, yet. I’ve actual gotten out a few times since Thanksgiving.

How about you? Did you get your MG fired up since Thanksgiving? What projects are you working on now for the spring? I don’t have any specific MG projects planned. But after my last road test I may need to chase down a coolant leak. I had a little trickle of antifreeze running across my garage floor. I suspect this will be my last RHD article ?? I expect that the new Vice-President will take over this next month ?? I will be transitioning to club treasurer. As I keep the books for our nursing home and I know that Ralph set up a great system and Phil has done a fabulous job keeping the books I don’t for see any issues with the transition.

Except possibly computer type. Despite being an electrical engineer that has depended on computers to do my job, I have a real love/ hate relationship with them. If my computer were a car it would make a Yugo look like an incredible auto. But I’m sure you’ve heard complaints along those lines before.

Enough rambling. I want to thank all of you club members that have made my time with the CMGC so great. I’ve been thrilled to be a part of this club and have met so many fantastic folks. THANK YOU! Let’s continue to support our officers and club members. 2019 will be the best year yet!

Thank you all! Safety Fast!
