Our Holiday party was once again an AWSOME EVENT!!! I always look forward to it!! Lisa & David Novak planned and organized this year’s party once again held at the Wheat Stack in Lisle, IL. They did a fabulous job decorating the room and making it festive and BEATUTIFUL! Although the turnout was smaller than past years, it made for a lovely quaint evening! Lisa and Dave entertained us with a clever “Pub Quiz” on The Club history/lore/"secrets", MG history/lore/etc., British culture and Chicago history/culture, etc.

The banquet area was spacious for all the attending guests.

Drinks and an appetizer cheese tray were served and the dinner was delicious! — juicy prime rib, succulent Lemon Chicken and all the appropriate trimmings served family-style! The wait staff were attentive to everyone’s needs and satisfied the member drink request with uncanny efficiency. (how do you find the drink recipient in a roomful of moving guests, I don’t know...) Everyone brought a wrapped gift for the annual grab bag and door prizes were raffled off with efficiency.

Our Awards ceremony followed dinner and the Pub quiz. I presented awards to the following winners:
Honorable mention for participation in a T Series was presented to: Ric & Nancy Maitzen.

Bad Luck award (aka the “Tim’s Corner Award”) went to Tim Schafer

I renamed the Bad Luck award to the “Tim’s CornerAward”. This obviously went to Tim Schafer for TOO MANY mishaps, thankfully no catastrophes (thank God) that occurred in the 2018 season. We can only hope 2019 will be a better year for the challenged little blue midget and this award will be a “one off” award!!!

Honorable Mention for participating in the most events in a T-Series totaling 22 was present to: Bob Lee. 3 medals were also presented to Bob’s (3) three adorable Grandchildren: Colin, Caden and Addison Carver for their participation in the driving events.

A Special Recognition Couple’s award was presented to Victor & Penny L’Heureux for their couple’s dedication and participation through the years. They never miss a meeting, have participated in many events, Victor makes sure all our driving articles are published in time for our Wonderful Driveline, he is the Driveline editor, CMGC Secretary and in charge of new memberships for the Chicagoland MG club. Thank you Victor for ALL YOU DO for our club!!!!
