WOW!!!!!
RECORD BREAKING TEMPS out in our lovely state of Illinois!!! Why would you want to live anywhere else??? We just made HISTORY!!!!

Hope everyone bunkered down and survived the DEEP FREEZE!! Our poor little MGs are hopefully bundled and buttoned up during the BLAST OF FREEZING COLD temps! Even in the garages, it is bitter cold and actually burns any exposure of skin that is not covered up!

Not to fear, it will literally be 100 degrees warmer come super bowl Sunday!!!! HEAT WAVE of 40+ degrees!!! Take down the tops of your MGs and go out for a Spin!!!!! (just kidding, but it will feel like spring compared to the 45+ below wind-chill temps we have experienced!!!

There were 9+ brave MG members who attended the Amtrak Road Trip to Kalamazoo Michigan on January 25th – 27th. I am sure they had a blast! Jake & Ann Snyder most likely will have a review on the trip in this month’s Driveline!

I have been working on the calendar and will have the 1st version completed this month. I will be reaching out to various members to verify and confirm events to be hosted and organized for the 2019 driving season.

I welcome any new ideas for Rally’s or events!!! There is still room on the calendar to schedule!! Please email or call me to discuss (312)927-3155   Jamie@jls-industries.com

Save the dates and look for information in this months and next month’s Driveline for the following events coming up in March and April:

March 17th – Swap Meet (CMGC)
April 6th – St. Louis MG club – running the Endurance Rally
April 20th – Spring Tune up (CMGC)
April 28th – Spring Tour (VMGCC)

Spring is right around the corner!!! THINK WARM THOUGHTS and it will come!!!!!
Remember to sweep your sweeties off their feet this Valentine’s day!!
Love to all!!!!

Safe travels and “MGreetings”

In remembrance

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - William J. Cole, 87, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 16 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, after a long and happy life. He was surrounded by family and much love. Bill grew up in Chicago's Portage Park and was a Korean War-era Army veteran. He graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology and was an engineer with Motorola for 20 years, pioneering mobile communications. He also was director of engineering for Cobra phone and CB products in Chicago. Bill was a parishioner at Our Lady of the Wayside church in Arlington Heights since 1962. In his retirement years, he volunteered with Habitat For Humanity building homes for the less fortunate, and subsequently helped as an overnight supervisor at Public Action to Deliver Shelter at Wayside. Most recently, he assisted the homeless at Journeys - The Road Home in Palatine. Bill was full of life, energy and talent. He raised four children with wife Adelaide (Scotty). They liked to travel cross-country in a motor home, heading to the Southwest and Mexico. Bill loved shooting and hunting, and fabricated his own muzzle-loading rifles. He also had a passion for vintage British automobiles, owning a 1952 MG-TD and a 1980 MGB. He and Scotty were part of the Vintage MG Car Club of Chicago, and they liked to drive in car club outings and local parades. Bill loved his family dearly and with much appreciation for the time he spent with Scotty, children, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral was held at Our Lady of the Wayside, 434 W. Park St., Arlington Heights, on Monday, Jan. 28 followed by a funeral Mass at Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Journeys - The Road Home at www.journeystheroadhome.org
