Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline March 2018

Tales of the Mongrel
The "Return" of the Neutralizer

In response to the club's request for more Driveline articles as well as my own change of life in moving from Illinois to Tennessee my intentions are to remain a member of the Chicagoland MG Club and although I have passed on working the Christmas Parties and WCBT to other faithful club members I would like to remain active with the club in some small way. The "Neutralizer" always seemed to produce a kick for club members and so I he will return.

The cast of characters are all alter egos of our club's members as follows:
The Neutralizer - Ralph Arata
Sir William - Bill Hedricks
The Big Fed - DeanHickenlooper
The Doctor - Steve Skegg
Farms' Computer Genius - Dave Novak
Farms' Mission Controller - Susan Arata
Gadgets (electronics expert) - Dino Perez
Other characters will be introduced as the series develops.

Here is the PROLOGUE

The Neutralizer was not a policeman, US Marshal, agent or government employee of any kind. He was a highly decorated Special Forces soldier who had seen action in the Balkans, Somalia, Angola and various Middle Eastern countries. He was fully qualified as a class 10 sniper, small and automatic arms expert and specialist in close quarters and hand-to-hand combat. The Neutralizer’s career was mentored and closely watched by a Mr. Dean Hickenlooper of US Justice Department. Dean was now the “Big Fed” running the DOJ's Special Ops department and had personally supervised the construction of the “Farm” which was a super secret anti-terrorist surveillance and eradication compound tucked somewhere in the Allegheny Mountains.
It was Hickenlooper who recruited Ralph Arata a.k.a. the Neutralizer to “contract” for the Farm. It was Arata that the Big Fed assigned special missions to when the US President had no other choices!

INTRODUCTION.......THE STORY CONTINUES!
The rain hit the widows of the Chicago Marriot hard. Typical February Chicago weather as the icy rain and then snow rushed to earth. Even with the white noise permeating the hotel's rooms the weather would keep many residents awake this night. Ralph Arata aka the Neutralizer was fast asleep. Having returned from his last assignment in Syria where the soldier had not slept in 72 hours he was dead to the world. That was until his Justice Department issued cell phone rang at 5:10AM.

"Hi Dean, what's up"? The Big Fed had a new assignment for the soldier and a rendezvous was quickly established at 2111 W Roosevelt....the FBI Chicago office. Arata quickly showered and shaved and donned pair a black khaki pants and turtle neck. For the meet the only need was his 93R Beretta which boosted a 14 shot clip and capable of tri burst or full auto.

The Neutralizer was met by the Big Fed just inside the FBI offices and the two men took a private elevator to the roof's helipad. The helicopter ride would take them to the "Farm's" control room where Susan Arata, the gorgeous and brilliant mission controller would join them. On route they talked! Dean looked at the soldier. The President has tossed us a tough one. Intelligence reports that the Medina Cartel otherwise known as the "Bullet Proof Cartel" had struck some sort of deal with the Taliban. The Taliban would provide the cartel with heroine in exchange for the what the CIA reports as the transfer of dirty bombs from Mexico over the Texas border to destinations unknown at this point. We need to work fast as the clock is ticking. Our government only has a general idea of where to start in Mexico to track down these bombs so any surgical strike is off the table.

Your mission will be revealed in detail once we make it to the "Farm". By the way, the "Doctor" and "Gadgets" have been working on your MG and has some special surprises in store for you.

NEXT ISSUE - THE MISSION!
