So what’s up with Autocross? Well to be honest we haven’t yet finalized the autocross dates for this year but I’ve picked out three that look like they will work in our calendar.

We’ve got so many driving events that might happen, that 2019 will be a very busy driving season. Still, there is snow on the ground.

So why am I talking about Autocross? Well I want to encourage everyone to think about coming out this year. Also, The Austin-Healey club has asked our help in trying to find a location for their gymkhana this year. We would do this as a joint club event with the Healey club.

We need a big parking lot somewhere in the Chicago area. It needs to be empty on the date or dates of our events. If we can find this lot. We may be able to run a couple of half-day autocrosses with the Healey club. Many of the folks that have come out in the past have expressed interest in only doing a half day event. The Miata club autocrosses are a great value but, they are also a whole day event.

In the meanwhile we can work on that loose nut between the steering wheel and the seat. To that end I’ve checked out the Skip Barber video from the club library. I’ve watched about 1/3rd of it so far. More studying to do. Then when the weather gets here it will be practice, practice, practice.
