Monthly Column of Driving Events
Hello MG Enthusiast!!
With All this Nasty weather upon us, I am hoping and anticipating that the SUN GODS will show up for our next round of driving events! Since this newsletter comes after our 1st few driving events, The Spring Tune Up and The Spring Brunch, I am hoping it was a nice sunny day and somewhat warm out. I guess I will have to revisit that in next month’s newsletter to see how everything turned out. I am sure, through Rain, (even snow) or shine, everyone who participated had a wonderful time!
Moving on, I would like to once again remind everyone of the FANTASTIC driving events coming up in May and June. Forgive me for repeating myself from last month’s newsletter, but I want to give you one last reminder for May & June’s events.
June is an extraordinarily BUSY month with TONS of events going on and require in advance sign up and reservations!
Hopefully, there was a nice turn out for the “RIP ROARING” Spring Chicken Rally which took place Sunday, May 6th!! Unfortunately, this article comes after this event so I will have to re visit with all the exciting news on how it turned out! I’m sure it was a success as it has been in the previous years!
Jim Vondran talked some more at our MG club Members meeting and shared some heartfelt stories of the seniors who show up for the Car Care Safety Clinic. They always look forward to this event not only to get their cars worked on, but to hang out and chat a bit with the guys. Not only does it mean the world to these people, but I know from what I heard, all the MG Members who attend this event get just as much satisfaction and gratification in helping them out! This event takes place on Saturday, May 12th.
Please let Ric & Nancy Maitzen know if you will be participating in the Spring Tour, taking place on Friday, May 18th. If you would like to, they are meeting for breakfast first at Billy’s Pancake House in Palatine. From there, they will leave exactly at 9:00am and then caravan to Woodstock. It is advised to watch the movie Groundhog Day before taking the tour. They plan to go to the famous Village square where there will be a guided walking tour of the locations from the movie. Lunch will follow the tour. Sounds like a fun filled day you may want to participate in!
Remember to get in your spectacular MG’s and show them off anywhere and everywhere you go in honor of British car week starting June 26th – May 1st.
Hopefully, you have decided to commit to a fabulous weekend for the Jo Davies County Tour in SPECTACULAR Galena, Illinois taking place on Friday – Sunday June 1-3.
Please don’t wait any longer to make reservations at the hotel –The Stockton Country Inn & Suites. (rooms are limited) The
