Jerry Cihak trailered his 1946 TC. The perfectly polished chrome was a fan favorite in the show and the TC won 1st place in the TC class.
Ric and Nancy Maitzen made the GOF in a vacation trip through Ohio. Only one small electrical problem caused a minor delay but in general their 1.022 mile trip from Northbrook to Akron was trouble free. It was also the longest and they won the Long Distance Award. And it handed the Paul Johnson award for the club that drove the most combined miles to the GOF to the VMGCC. In the photo from Left to Right; Ray Costa, Jerry Cihak, Nancy Maitzen, Ric Maitzen, and Bob Lee.
We trailered Emma, our 1931 M-type, and together with two more M-types it was a good presentation at the car show. On the left is the 1931 12/12 replica of Dennis & Crystal Klemm and CMGC members Jason & Brenda Klemm from Yorkville, IL. Emma is shown in the middle. On the right is the 1930 Mtype of Ohio Chapter club member Dick Hall who won the Early 4 Cylinder Prewar Class.
But we could not have been any luckier with the weather for the driving events. It was sunny and the roads were perfect. The scenery around Akron with the Cuyahoga Valley and the National Park was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed many miles of happy motoring with Emma.
It rained a lot and the hotel parking lot looked like this most of the early mornings.
