Thunderstorms continued to play a role. The forecast for the 45 minute drive, through the beautiful Kentucky country, to the final banquet was so bad that no prewar MG took its chances. We all arrived in modern vehicles at Federal Grove, the historic home and restaurant. Rain started, as forecasted, during the dinner. Then rain turned into sweeping winds, storm, thunder, and right when Sarah and Bill Richey were to announce the winners, the lights flickered a few time before they went out... and stayed out. Adam Sloan, the MGCC General Manager, who was in attendance from the UK had just recharged his cellphone and the built in flashlight allowed the ceremony to begin. Also at the meeting was Peter Cook, MGCC Overseas Director who encouraged the attendees to start thinking about 100th Anniversary of MG Celebrations for 2023. (no photo, sorry Peter)

Final notes
In comparison to the larger MG Conventions it may not sound much that almost 70 people and about 30 MMM cars were in attendance. But relative to the total NAMMMR membership of around 135, this is a huge success! I don’t think that there are many national car clubs or MG registers who get about 25% of their membership to come out for an annual national convention.

With these photos, I tried to chronicle the events of the 2019 Annual MMM Meet in Bowling Green, KY. What I could not capture in photos and captions is the superb organization, energy, and enthusiasm of the organizers, Bill and Sarah Richey of Bowling Green, KY. Supported by many volunteers everything went absolutely perfect. The reason that I wasn’t able to get a photo of all the volunteers was simply that they were never long enough in one place. Before I was able to get my phone from my pocket and turn the camera on, they were already gone, taking care of another thing, mostly behind the scenes. Thanks a lot, to all of them. It was a MaGnificent MMM Meet.
