Monthly Meeting Minutes
August 19, 2019

28 Members in attendance
CMGC President Dean Hickenlooper opened the meeting at 7:01 pm. Dean welcomed new member Angelo Santucci, owner of a 1977 green MGB.
Staff Reports
Library – Bill noted a new entry -- The UK to USA Dictionary -- to the library.
Membership – Victor L’Heureux noted that we currently have 228 paid members with 34 members still delinquent.
Finance – Current accounting indicate we have $6,398 in checking, $18,248 in savings for a total of $24,646
Car Projects
MGA – Club Project Car – replacement exhaust system has been received awaiting installation. Electrical components – plugs, points, ignition cabling – replaced. Brake hoses and other rubber components replaced and braking system bled and checked out. Floorboards are next on the agenda to be refurbished. Currently the project has cost a little over $300.
Dave Bralich noted that Bernie will be hosting a car demo on September 21 at Bralich’s home. The 1971 MGB has many usable parts to be salvaged. Whatever is remaining will be scrapped.
Phil Wydra was having difficulty with the taillight not working, Found to be a fuse problem. Simple fix.
Pat Guest will be hosting a continuation of the rail replacement project at his home on August 31st.
Steve Sparks still having difficulty with overheating in slow traffic. Many items have been replaced – radiator, thermostat, water pump – other items serviced. Timing adjusted belts tightened, etc. Still no corrected.

July 27 – Autocross II with the Windy City Miata Club
August 4 - Peds in the Weeds – Eight cars were in attendance for this event.

August 15 – Westmont Crusin’ – great weather, great turnout!
August 18 – Tally -Ho Rallye – Phil & Sandy Wydra placed 3rd

August 24 – rescheduled Aug 10 date for Autocross III with the Windy City Miata Club
September 7 - Meadowdale Motorsports & Memories car show
September 8 - British Car Festival
September 20-22 - Wine, Cheese & Beer Tour
September 28 - Volo Car Museum
Break/ 50:50 raffle– CMGC member Tom Lancaster was the winner of $77 and split the winnings with the club taking home $37.
New Business
Club Website – The current club website is huge containing a vast amount of technical data and club historical events. The club would like to update the ‘front-end’ (the opening screens and navigation features) utilizing newer technology and webpage structure tools. Dean asked for any members willing to assist with this task. Member Richard Wood asked to be included with this effort.
With no further business to discuss, Phil closed the meeting at 8:06 pm.

So my friends, dust off the car, kick the tires and plan a trip. It’s not the destination but truly the journey that is most precious. Perhaps a quick glance in your mirror will reveal a smiling angel in a floppy sunhat giving you a gentle push.
