Monthly Column of Driving Events
Hello to all and sorry that I missed the column in the previous newsletter. But I am back, in full swing for the final stretch of the 2013 Driving Season.
Whaaaat …..?
Yes, you heard it right; the 2013 Driving Season is entering its final phase, with just a few more events on the calendar for October and November. If you haven't been out to some of our Driving Events yet, time is running out. On the 11th and 12th, Ric Maitzen is organizing a Fall Tour to Troy Wisconsin for the Kettle Moraine Art Studio Tour. I apologize that the official announcement didn't make it in the Driveline. But please call Ric at 847 205 1082 for the details.
Elsewhere in this issue you should find the information about the Halloween Rally. It is going to be a little bit different and we hope that many of you can make it. After-all, it is your last chance! In November there is the Fall Tune Down Party and the Cruise to the Rock, but the Halloween Rally on Sunday the October 27 is indeed the last time we ride together in an organized group.
So the time to think about the 2013 Driving Season and making plans for the 2014 version is coming up. This was the first year of the combined driving events. One calendar, one championship, dash plaques for everybody, little trophies for the winners, and announcements and reports in our newsletters. How was it? Any good suggestions for next year? events that you didn't care about? How about the things that you liked and want to see more of? Or simply, did you like it? Please feel free to send me your thoughts. I would really like to hear your feedback and make the 2014 Driving Season even better than this year.
The end of the season also marks the end of the championships. On the CMGC we have had our awards presentation after the February business meeting. But that is probably not the best time to celebrate the awards together with the members of the VMGCC. What shall we do? There are at least two options. Organize a special awards event, maybe a Sunday afternoon wine, beer, and snack get together with an awards ceremony. Or shall we try to make it part of the Holiday Party, which is just a week after the Cruise to the Rock, which is not a lot of time to tally the results and get trophies engraved. We have a little bit of time to think about this before we take a decision. Again, I would really like to hear your preferences or ideas from you, members of the CMGC and members of the VMGCC.
As always, please call me at 847 342 9804 or email me at reinoutvogt@gmail.com if you want to share something on the topics we talked about above, or about any other Driving Events related topic that may come to your mind.
