The Library Muse
I know that it is a little early to be putting the cars away for the winter with this being the best driving time of the year, but I came across an item that may be of interest. A cordless dehumidifier. Marketed to remove moisture from gun-safes or closets, they should work fine in the boot, or perhaps hang one from a bow on the convertible roof. They work using absorbent crystal technology, whatever that means. Charge in a regular wall socket for about eight hours, and it’s good for four to six weeks. A moisture gauge will indicate when it is time to recharge. Available at gun stores for about $25-30. And while you’re there, check out some of the cleaning supplies, particularly the brass (phosphate-bronze) bore brushes. They come in various sizes from .17 inch to over .50 inch. Handy for cleaning crud from fuse holders or holes and ports where you don’t want to risk ‘honing’ the diameter.
The library will be closed for the October meeting, so the next opportunity to return or borrow material will be in November.
Strange but True Tales of Car Collecting
Keith Martin and Linda Clark, 2013, 252 pages, hardbound
This book is similar to The Cobra in the Barn (yes, we have it in the library) in that it is an anthology of short stories by different authors, including Tom Cotter from the Cobra book. But it is a little more diverse than just ‘barn finds.’ Included are such stories as the real Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Bill Cosby’s Super Snake, the knee steering Besaie X cars, and Johnny Cash’s one-piece-at-a-time Cadillac. And they laugh at me for collecting Jaguar parts.

CMGC Regalia
We have another new item available thanks to Bill Mennell; it is a large club logo that is made for hanging on the wall. It is metal and really looks sharp. If you were at the last club meeting you saw an example. They are only $30. They will go fast.
We also received our order of car badges and we have lowered the price to $20 since they are not numbered.
I recently checked our on-line store sales and we are selling some of our merchandise from fieldhouse.com/mg. As you know, these items are available for customization with our club logo and your name or other information. You can also visit the triple-c.com site to order MG merchandise of which some of it can be personalized with our club logo.
How about a warm Stadium blanket for those cool fall (or early Spring) outings? They are embroidered with the CMGC logo.
We have a good supply of club license plate frames as well as the small club pins if you are interested. We also have a small inventory of items that are available at club meetings and other events.
CMGC Name Tags are available to order. If you need a Name Tag, let me know and I’ll but you on the next list. Once we get to 10 on the list, we place the order.
Any questions, do not hesitate to ask George.
