Monthly Meeting Minutes August 21, 2017

  CMGC President Ray Hansen opened the meeting at 8:03 pm.

Car Project
Bill Kalafut now has a working overdrive transmission. After many attempts at troubleshooting an error in initial assembly was the culprit.
Matt Shemluck still having idling issues. Members suggested to check fuel floats as the cause.
Dino Perez noted that the rotor shaft was loose from the rod causing the limo to have intermittent poor engine performance.
Dave Bralich was lucky to be in a safe location when the steering mechanism cane loose from the tie rod. Had it been on the highway, the car may not have been salvageable.
Kevin Carlson is still experiencing engine run-on.
Tim Shafer had a ‘show & Tell’ – a late model midget clutch plate severely worn a throw-out bearing nearly destroyed.
Jim Evans noticed a ‘clunking noise ‘coming from the engine space during accelerating or braking. Found crossmember bolts connecting to the frame missing.

Special Presentation
Ray Costa, Vintage MG Car Club of Chicago - noted the VMGCC is hosting the 201Gathering Of the FaithfulLake Lawn Resort in Delevan, WI. June 27-30, 2018. There is a lot to do and many opportunities for VMGCC members and CMGC to participate in the planning and execution of this traditional MG event. All too often it's just the "usual guys" stepping up. Let's all find at least one task that fits our talents and pitch in. There are never too many people for a task.

  Break/ 50:50 raffle – CMGC member – Bernie Mayer -- was the winner of $30 but opted to have the money rollover until next month. Additional raffle items –a ‘BobbleHead’ dash doll and book bag with a racing log were won byTim Shaffer andKevin Carlson respectively.
