This month is a time to be Thankful!

Thankful that we have such a fabulous club full of amazing members, gorgeous cars and most of all dear friends! I am so thankful that my husband Tim joined this car club and convinced me to come to a meeting, that I so reluctantly pushed back and told him I was not interested in going to a car club meeting and listening to a bunch of guys talk shop and cars! Boy was I wrong!!! I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN SO WRONG!! From the very first meeting I attended, I met the warmest, kindest, interesting people, who I am proud to call my friends today! I am certain many of you feel the same way! IT IS A WONDERFUL club to belong to and for that, I AM EXTREMELY THANKFUL to be a part of it!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed HALLOWEEN and you did not get too SPOOKED!!!! Ladies, I guess we have to put our broom stick and hats away….but keep them easily assessable just in case you need to pull them out every once in a while….. I know mine is always there when I need them!!! LOL!!

October FLEW BY!!!! It was a VERY successful month for the 2 events that took place!

On October 12th, Jim Vondran hosted and organized the Car Care Safety Clinic for Seniors in Lisle, IL. I heard there was an impressive turnout of 60 cars that showed up and 9 members to attend to all those cars!! I am sure there will be a write up in this month’s issue with all the details and pictures.

What a way to wrap up the month!!!! I want to personally congratulate Phil & Sandy Wydra for the EXTRODINARY job they did on organizing and hosting this year’s Halloween Rally which took place Sunday, October 27th. Not only were the roads amazing, the challenges were great fun and very clever!! The driving directions were spot on and the restaurant we ate at for lunch was outstanding!!!! They also had yummy treats and unique prizes for the rally scores and best costume! What a SPECTACULAR time it was!!! The weather was PERFECT and the turnout was remarkable– 40 members (including the helpers and organizers) 15 cars (not including the workers or organizers) participated and had a “MONSTER MASH” TIME!!!!!! Make sure to read the review where there will be pictures and winners of the Rally in this month’s issue.

This month will be our final (2) two events for the season.
The Fall Tune Down – Hosted and organized by Dave (Cowboy) Bralich took place Sunday 11/3. Hopefully, most of you made it to Dave’s to work on some issues on your car or just begin to button it up for the winter. I’m sure the Chili was delicious as always and it was a good time gathering around!!

Once again, the classic Cruise to the Rock – hosted and organized by Jake & Ann Snyder will take place on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, 11/28. If you are not cooking all morning and day, like myself, join everyone at the rock and celebrate the historical 1st US car race that took place in 1895 on Thanksgiving morning in Chicago on a cold snowy

I look forward to our Holiday Party, January 11th to present the driving events awards!! Sure hope to see many of you there!!!!!
