The 18th annual Alden Classic Sports Car Show will be Aug. 13th, 2017 in Alden, Michigan. Located 25 miles NE of Traverse City in northwestern lower Michigan. This beautiful resort village welcomes over 100 sports cars for a weekend of touring, car show, and valve cover racing.

This year's featured marque / make was the MGA...so I couldn't resist making the 160 round-trip drive from the summer property in my TR4, which I entered in the show. (I didn't attend the prior day's picnic and drive - which had 30 cars and 55 drivers / navigators.)

The number of pre-registered cars was 75; since the weather was so good, another 65 crawled out of the woodwork. Appropriately, most of the cars were British - with the usual highest numbers of MGs and Triumphs. Others that could proudly display the Union Jack included Jaguars, Austin Healeys, and Minis, with a Morgan, Lotus, Sunbeam, and Morris Minor tossed in for good measure. As a sports car show (not exclusively British), there were a couple of Alfas, a Lambo, Porsches, a Karmann Ghia, and a Vector (one of 17 made, valued at $1.7 million, with 1,200 hp).
