Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline December 2017
Special Event

(Continued from page 8)

I walked around a lot, looking at the cars and talked with prior acquaintances - I had not been here since the 2013 Sunday show. I also went to the nearby train depot that now houses model rail layouts operated by the North Michigan Railroad Club — and, I couldn't resist taking another look out across the lake.

I spent time speaking with several of the MGA owners to see if / how often they have had the opportunity to deal with The MGA Guru - CMGC's very own Barney. Some had, and found the tips and advice useful. All I spoke with were impressed and amused with his travels all around the North American continent in his MGA the past few years, as he visits as many British car owners and clubs as he can. I explained that I had hoped he could fit this show into his busy itinerary, given the featured marque - and that we would have been a shoe-in for the award honoring the longest distance traveled. (I saved him a T-shirt and a dash plaque - each displaying an MGA - from the event.)

The Club doesn't have the awards results on their web site yet. (Best of Show went to one of the Jaguars.)

It's nice to see the MG marque recognized and honored...keep your eyes and ears open on your travels - you might happen across a bunch of LBCs!
