Scott with his new acquisition - a 1946 MG TC racer.

I moved last August to Colorado. I have the most wonderful MG roads all around me but today is not that day.
I have the 1932 red MG J2 but no roll bar, no fuel cell, 19”x 2” wheels, 90 year old body and frame- hey, what could possibly go wrong racing it? My goal is to get it on the road here with the 45-mph speed limit—white knuckle for sure. If I can only get the brakes to bite.
My other cars - 1965 white MGB-v8 and 1969 red Lotus Elan - are here in Colorado in more or less running condition excepting the 1964 MGB race car which still lives in the Midwest. I traveled back to race last summer but am reaching the point of not being quite able to keep up with it. So, in my foolishness, I bought a race prepared 1946 MG TC so I can still play in group 1.
The car belonged to Frank Mount of Ontario Canada. Frank is retiring from racing and so selling his race cars. I had met Frank over the years through the MG Vintage Racers and I knew him to be a man of integrity. So, though I did not have the chance to inspect the car, he told me it was ready to race, I had it shipped directly to the September VSCDA event and raced it without a problem that weekend. It was exactly as represented-and fast as these things go! Frank has put much love and creative thinking into “Clatter” (his name for it which of course I will keep!)
We’re having a long overdue snowstorm that is supposed to drop 30 inches before it’s through. Good for skiing, not so good for driving! So I think I’ll go out to the garage and work on installing the supercharger on the MGBGT I bought on Bring A Trailer. Hey, seemed like a good idea at the time...
