SPRING IS HERE!!!!!! Hoping for not too many “SHOWERS” (as the saying goes – April showers bring May flowers) hopefully, the warm temps will come more often this month – it’s been a CHILLY March!

Before I go into our driving calendar, I must mention what a GREAT time I had at the Swap meet this past Sunday, March 27th! This was the first time I ever attended a Swap meet. I always thought it was just a bunch of car parts for sales and a “GUYS” day out……FAR FROM IT!!! Yes, there were MANY vendors selling all kinds of car parts, but a lot of the vendors were our VERY OWN MEMBERS, both from the Chicagoland MG Club and the Vintage MG Car Club. IT WAS A TREMENDOUS turnout!!!! I saw a lot of members I have not seen in person since the pandemic started! I did some shopping (of course!) myself!! I bought British flags to wave around for my wagon that my sweet dogs will ride in at the Lagrange Pet Parade, some MG iron-on patches and a cool British doggie collar!!! (no… not for Tim LOL!!!) It is for my sweet Sydney to also sport at the pet parade!!!! I also discovered there were other buildings that took my interest!!! I shopped a little more at the antique show across the way and then to my surprise…. a re-sale clothing show!!! GREAT DAY FOR ME!!!! LOL!!!!! CUDOS to Jim Evens for organizing an awesome day out and a very successful Swap meet!!!

I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing many of you at ourMG Awards Banquet on April 9th! I know all that come to this FABULOUS night out are in for a treat. We have a FULL agenda for the evening! I can’t wait to present the awards to all the winners of last year’s driving events!!!

The Calendar is really looking good as early in the year as it is! We already have 9 scheduled driving events, (not including the registry events; NAMGBR, GOF, NAMGAR and AMGCRA). I am hoping to see more events pop up later in the season!

As a reminder, the Spring Tune Up hosted by Wilbur Mennell and Dave Bralich takes place on Saturday, April 30th. Another announcement with details is posted in this month’s issue.

There are two (2) events in May. Saturday the 14th is the Car Care Safety Clinic for Seniors. Jim Vondran will once again host and organize this annual event. Information is also listed in this month’s issue.

Please mark your calendars and SAVE THE DATE for Sunday, May 22nd. The Spring Chicken Run Rally is on again!!!! This event is hosted and organized by Ray & Sue Hansen. Please RSVP to Sue and Ray in advance. This is a GREAT DAY OUT and usually a VERY BIG turnout! GREAT ROUTES and fun and challenging questions along the drive! Hope to see MANY of you there! There is an announcement “SAVE THE DATE” in this month’s issue as well.

June is a VERY BUSY month! There are four (4) driving events and two (2) Registry events; NAMGAR GT-47 and NAMGBR. I will go over those details next month!
