Left Hand Drive

A few days ago, I was discussing with a friend the future of the automotive industry based on the reduction of gasoline and the increase of electric powered vehicles – he and I didn’t completely agree on the issue (gas verses electric powered vehicles) but we did both express concerns on both related to the increase dangers to our environment. One of the areas of my greatest concerns is this – what will happen to our precious gas-powered MGs? I am sure there are electric MGs in the newer sedan type that are overseas waiting to cross the pond to the US. But what about our Bs, GTs, and As - what about those?
We have many members in the CMGC, which love to maintain and improve their MGs, that is the beauty of owning an MG – maintaining and modifying their MGs to make them go faster. Starting with upgrading spark plugs, looking at the exhaust system and simply making your MG engine breathe easier. I am no way an expert in this field, and I am sure there are many other issues related to our MGs. However, we do have a group called “traveling mechanics” who would be able to assist you in the “performance” and “health” of your MG.
However, speaking of the future, I was talking to a CMGC member, whose teenager has great interest in the family MG and the person mentioned the idea of making their MG an electric car. A few of you are thinking how that can be or even why would you do it. BUT - it is the future of our next generation!

Wow y’all clean up well.
Most of the time when I see other members of this club is with grease to the elbows working on an MG. It was great to see everyone at the awards banquet looking great. This was my first awards banquet and I was proud to be recognized for the New Member of the Year Award and the President’s Award. I am proud of the Website Committee that I’m a part of for the work we have accomplished. I really appreciate us getting the President’s Award.
I think it’s necessary for us to move forward with technology to attract new members. The website committee we be a large part in making that happen. Our presentation went long, and I didn’t get a chance to show how the website will look on a smart phone. I just want to ensure this club that having this website be easy to navigate both on a person computer and on a phone is very important to us. I know we still have a lot of work left, but I’m confident we will keep this club moving forward.
Seeing all the awards from the different events that required so many volunteers lets me know how strong this club is. I hope my contributions measure up to the generosity I see coming from all of the volunteers in this club.
