2022 Missouri Endurance Rally
Saturday, April 23, 2022
This annual event — sponsored by the St. Louis MG Club — is quite the challenge for both car and driver. The goal is to reach each location and take a photo the landmark or "fill in the blank" and then to return with the lowest mileage within the time frame given by the Rallye master. Only British cars manufactured during or before 1981, using only the navigational aides available during that period.

A great, but long day with getting on for 14 hours of driving. My son-in-law, Jaysen Vana was with me and acted as navigator. We took the driving & navigating in turns—I did the first leg, Jay did the next two, then I did two, he did two and I did two. Then he drove ‘home’, which was great as it was pitch black and I’m old!
We were top down from the start to the last checkpoint and look suitably roasted red for it. Our car was faultless ( though everything is now dirty & dusty!) and we ended up with 1,100 miles on the clock, including the trip down & back, for the 3 days it all took. The roads were definitely MG roads with lots of twists and turns, ups and downs and some great views. The weather was perfect, dry and warm enough for the top down, but not sticky & humid or too hot ( we brought spare clothes in case!). We were eating dinner at some time after 11pm so it was a very long day. The beer was well earned!
