2021 MG AWARDS BANQUET
Saturday 9 April 2022
Moretti’s - 1799 Busse Rd., Mt. Prospect IL 60056

It is always a challenge to start something new… you never know how things will turn out. Well, this year the MG clubs of Chicago – Chicagoland MG Club and the Vintage MG Car Club of Chicago – held their first Awards Banquet to recognize the most active members participating in various categories and to show appreciation to the organizers of the driving events. It was quite a turnout. Sixty members attended the event held at the Moretti’s in Mt. Prospect.

After an ITALIAN BUFFET with the main dishes of Penne Pasta with Marinara Sauce, Chicken Romano, and Sliced Italian Beef (with all the fixin’s) a sneak-peek of the new club website was presented by Tim Schafer and Paul Pickley.

Despite the COVID restrictions, it was a VERY SUCCESSFUL YEAR. The participation was up more than expected. I think everyone was just ready to get out again to see each other and get in our MGs and DRIVE.

Here is the statistics for the past year: We had a total of 10 Driving events – five Tours & five Rallies – in addition to three Other MG Sponsored events. Two National Registry Car Events were attended by a contingent of members. In total , 136 participants booked 176 entries driving 132 MG cars. Although we did not have any Autocrosses - which ranks the highest points earned and usually determines the winner of the Victoria British Trophy - there were enough Rally events to keep the scores upfor some fierce competition!
