Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline June 2022
Feature Event

Spring Tune-up—Post-Mortem
Saturday, April 30, 2022

First let me give a big shout-out to Craig from Don's Auto Ade for allowing us the use of his shop, to Sam for giving up his Saturday to keep all of us shade tree mechanics out of harm's way, and of course Ann and Jake for lending their expertise. And Cowboy, my partner in crime.

Aldous Huxley, English philosopher, and author (Brave New World) wrote, ''The more you know, the more you see.” But after he moved to Hollyweird California to become a screen writer he started using mescaline and LSD (scientific experiments only I'm sure) so he probable saw a lot of things most people didn't. We knew from the Driveline that Dean has been restoring an MGA, but this is the first time we've seen it. Gorgeous! Otherwise, we saw nothing unusual, which is unusual. We had eight cars in total, the other seven being Bs. One member brought in a set of wire wheels from a Sunbeam Alpine for some new tires. Plus, we had about a half dozen kibitzers.

Those who stayed home due to the weather may have made the right decision. We finished up early, about 3PM.
In Warrenville we started to get a light drizzle, and I made it home without having to put up the top, but about three miles north, in West Chicago, there was a driving rainstorm at the same time. About 5PM the tornado sirens went off, but fortunately nothing happened except for about ten minutes of heavy rain. So, depending on where you live, it might have been an adventurous ride home.
