Monthly Column of Driving Events

Hi MG Family!!!

I hope all you “Daddies” had a WONDERFUL Father’s Day and hopefully everyone had a chance to get out and drive your MG’s on the longest day of the year to welcome the official start of summer!!

3 months of driving events have sadly gone by. On a hopeful note, we still have all of July, August, September and even October to get some driving events possibly planned.

As we are all aware, Illinois is approaching “stage 4” of opening and allowing more group gatherings to get together come this month. With that being said, I can only anticipate members reaching out to me with ideas of driving tour possibilities.

Perhaps someone can look up a past driving route from any tour. We can all pack a “brown bag” and bring our chairs. There will be no need to coordinate any reservations with a restaurant and we can end the route at a park, which can be a forest preserve, state park or any public area where there are public restrooms (hopefully open) and has a large area for us to plant ourselves down in the sun and reunite!!!

Just for kicks, here are some fun facts for the month of July I came across and reasons to go out and take a drive:

July 1. Canada Day / Dominion Day
July 3. Compliment Your Mirror Day
July 4. Independence Day (U.S.)
July 5. Build A Scarecrow Day - first Sunday in month.
July 13. Barbershop Music Appreciation Day
July 14. Bastille Day
July 15. Be a Dork Day
July 20. National Ice Cream Soda Day

Have a safe and happy 4th of July and let’s really try to plan some events!!!!!!

BE WELL my friends!!!!!!

Safe travels and “MGreetings”

"Dad! You have to come home!"

"You know I can't, son. I have the Coronavirus."

"Mom's trying to sell your MG!"
