On July 5th several club members in their MG’s headed to Blackhawk Farms Raceway to witness one of our own race his way to glory. Unfortunately, Kevin Carlson developed an oil pressure issue with his MGB that weekend and would not be on the track impressing us with his enhanced skills maneuvering around the turns and speeding down the straightaways.

A big thank you goes out to Jim Compton for organizing the event and mapping out the route. Our group consisted of Victor & Suzanne L’Heureux, Jim Compton, Phil & Sandy Wydra and Melissa Gonzales. Kevin & Lori Carlson also joined us in their civilian vehicle. We were met at the check in building by Dave (Cowboy) Bralich who provided us with the necessary information to ensure a fun filled day.

After gathering our cars in a nice shaded grassy area, we proceeded to scope out the various viewing options available to all the spectators. Most of us headed to the concession stand that had an open second level allowing a great view of the track.
