Hello All!!!

This summer just FLEW BY!!!! As we head into (what I think is the BEST month of the year- September, I always think of it as an “extension” of the summer leading up to fall. We usually have BEAUTIFUL weather, sometimes just as hot as August but nice cool evenings!! PERFECT Driving weather!!!!

Recapping last month - we had only ONE (1) driving event but an AWESOME one at that – The annual Westmont Crusin’ Night event hosted and organized by Jean Heasley and Bill Kalafaut. It was a PERFECT evening weather wise! Another Record-breaking turnout of 30 members (including the hosts) and a variety of 20 MG cars consisting of Jean & Bills IMPRESSIVE YB (A real Beauty!!), Dino’s RV8, MGBs, MGAs, Midgets TFs and TDs. It was a GREAT showcase for all the patrons and MG members to participate in voting for various rankings of their choice on ballots that were passed out at the beginning of the event. I can’t recall all the categories – so hopefully the write up in this month issue will mention most if not all of them. It was very unique and clever the way Bill & Jean changed up the voting this year for the “MG just-for-fun” car show! Although Tim & I missed out on the walking rally contest – I heard from those who participated, it was GREAT FUN and somewhat challenging!!

Congratulations to the winners: Placing 3rd – Doug Clark 2nd place – Jeff & Sharon Powell and coming in 1st – Dean & Kerry Hickenlooper!! The catered in “Dinner Boxes” provided to those who signed up for food were delish!! Thank you again Jean & Bill for AMAZING TIME!!!

We have (2) events for this month.
There is still time to REGISTER for the 35th ANNIUAL British car Festival, taking place on Sunday, September 11th at Harper College in Palatine from 9am -3pm. This is truly a FANTASTIC EVENT to attend!! ALL details and information will once again be listed in this month’s driveline email blast and the website.

Unfortunately, the Tally Ho Rally was canceled last minute last month but the good news is that it has been rescheduled for this month, Sunday September 18th!! Carl Vogel & Laurel Fredericks will once again be hosting and organizing this entertaining and enjoyable Driving event!! Another announcement should be posted in this month’s Driveline, email blasts and on the MG Website.

There are (3) Three events to SAVE THE DATE for coming up in October:

The Car Care Safety Clinic for Seniors – hosted again by Jim Vondran is scheduled for Saturday 10/8/22 –

A WONDERFUL SURPRISE EVENT…….just got on the calendar - The WCB (wine, cheese and beer) “Drive with a Stop II” - hosted AGAIN by Amy & Russ Mehaffey is scheduled for Sunday 10/9/22

And the Halloween Rally – Hosted and organized this year by Doug Clark is scheduled for Saturday 10/29/22. All details and information will be in this months issue, email blasts and the Website!!
