Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline October 2020

Continued from page 8)

So, where are we??

Two guys on curb are Lee Fox
and Andy Ackerman

This is the fourth rallye that Carolyn and Peter Westbay have put together. There were seven cars their first year; eight cars their second year; 12 cars their third year and seven cars again in 2020. Carolyn and Peter will not be able to set up the 2021 rallye, so the club will be needing someone to step up to organize the 2021 rallye. It is just as much fun setting up the rallies as the Rallye Masters usually drive to the locations to set up the clues, thus doing the rallye themselves, just earlier!

The final results of the 2020 St. Louis MG Club Mini Endurance Rallye were as follows; First – Allen Decker and Lynette Sanchez with adjusted mileage of 304.81 miles
Second – Robert Bentzinger and Bob Horzmann with adjusted mileage of 316.16 miles
Third - Steve Skegg and Briggs Patterson with adjusted mileage of 316.76 miles
Fourth – Rose Skegg and Jaysen Vana with adjusted mileage of 316.83 miles
Fifth – Simon Dix and Robert Rushing with adjusted mileage of 321.02 miles
Sixth – Andy Ackerman and Lee Fox with adjusted mileage of 321.35 miles

Upcoming Event
Fall Tune-Down and Chili Party
Sunday, November 1, 2020: 11 am - 4 pm
82 King Drive - Streamwood, IL

Welcome to the new normal. This will be the 11th time I have hosted this event. Since over the past years there has always been less than 25 individuals who show up and we have room to distance from each other. I have decided that this event will still happen. The event is outside and in my open garage. So, masks are not required, but if you do go inside, I ask that you put on your mask (Thanks).

Do you know what your winter project will be? If not come by and I am sure we can find something that should be done before next year’s driving season. I have a low-lift hoist so we can do some underbody inspection or brake work. End of the driving season is time for oil changes, some tune-up work or minor repairs. Bring your own parts, oil and a jug for oil disposal (and yes, you will take your own away).

Chili and drinks will be provided.
