Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline October 2022
Road Trip

Can you ever have enough friends?

I just finished a great Road-trip with Wednesday Night car club and fellow Chicagoland MG Club buddies Tom Raddatz and Bob Ligmanowski. We started off Thursday on our route to Northeastern Maryland where Tom was selling an engine. We hit the first

restaurant for dinner in Ohio. It was in the basement of an old church and called Father John’s Heavenly Devilish Brewing Company. Finally settled somewhere just East of Pittsburg.

Early morning departure to see Chuck from Monocoque Metalworks. Chuck is quite famous among Jaguar E Type Series I &II owners. His fabrication and panels are legendary. His hammer and dolly work is an art form in itself. Although he has a YouTube channel, he asked that we not post any pictures on social media. So, we’ll respect that.

Next, off to sell Tom’s V12 Jaguar engine, which was the purpose of the trip. The buyer was a guy named Kerry Stagmer. Kerry’s Business is designing, reconstructing, and manufacturing swords. Kerry’s company Baltimore Knife & Sword produces most of the swords used in theatrical performances as well as renaissance fairs around the country and even the world. He even has a Show called Man at Arms which can be seen on YouTube at the AWE me channel. https://www.youtube.com/AweMe

Maybe a smaller dagger would be easier to carry...What do you think?

Kerry’s collection of Jaguar cars, body shells, engines and accessories filled a small warehouse. The two tours of both Chuck’s shop and Kerry’s had the same theme. Both were filled with what can only be described as antique manufacturing machines, meticulously restored, and producing parts 75-100 years from their own original manufacturing dates. Both amazing craftsmen had a passion for the equipment that was equal to their passion for their craft. Then off to dinner at G&M Restaurant in Linthicum Heights, MD. They have some of the best and the largest crab cakes I have ever seen and tasted.
