Newer Directions Monthly Column of Driving Events

Hi MG Friends!!!

We are in the FINAL STRETCH for our MG events…. I cannot believe how fast this driving season has been!!!! It feels like we just started the season……Time is going faster and faster EVERY YEAR……It’s so upsetting to me…. I wish I could slow it down!!!!

We had a really GREAT OCTOBER as far as events go. The weather was up and down, but typical for this time of year! The leaves were absolutely stunning, in lovely colors of VIBRANT reds and yellows. An EXCELLENT time to take out our Mg’s for a scenic ride!!!!!

Jim Vondran gave a nice re-cap at our monthly members club meeting and informed us that it was a RECORD breaking turn out as far as how many seniors showed up to have their cars looked at. I’m sure they enjoyed the conversations they had as well with our members who graciously volunteered to help out that day! There should be pictures and details of this wonderful event in this month’s Driveline. Thank you AGAIN Jim for all you do!!!!!

The WCB (wine, cheese and beer) “Drive with a Stop II” - was once again a HUGE SUCCESS!!
Leave it to Amy & Russ Mehaffey, to come up with a TERRIFIC driving route up to Wisconsin!!! The roads were MAGNIFICANT!! There was an impressive turnout of 18 cars and 23 members who participated! I know there will be pictures and a write up on this amazing event! Thank you both for ALL THE EFFORT & TIME you put into this to GUARENTEE AN AMAZING DRIVE!!!!!

I will have to recap The Halloween Rally – Hosted and organized this year by Doug Clark which took place on Saturday 10/29/22. I can’t wait to see what everyone will be wearing (in costume) and what Doug plan’s to do for the Rally portion of this SPOOKY FUN ANNUAL EVENT!!! I’m sure it will be an AWSOME TIME!!!!!

The only event this month is the annual Fall Tune Down hosted by Dave Bralich on Sunday, 11/6/22 at his house. Details in this month’s issue. I will also recap on this event next month. I hope many members showed up to this event….Dave makes a MEAN CHILI, plenty of beer and beverages and a great time to mingle and work on the cars!!!!!! Hopefully the weather cooperates!!!!

That wraps up the DRIVING SEASON for 2022 (boo hoo…..!!!)
