Attitude Adjustment
The MGA with an Attitude is undergoing replacement of body sills this winter. All of the new inner body panels are being hand formed from sheet metal flat stock at great savings of cash but with considerable finesse of labor to create sweat equity.
The project started with some disassembly the day after Thanksgiving. There have been some delays, but no significant technical problems. Outer body panels were removed, and a number of paper and cardboard templates were made from the inner body during disassembly. All rusted metal was cut away full length below the door opening leaving the bare frame exposed from wheel to wheel, and some sand blasting was done to clean up remaining body parts.
Most of the parts are fairly easy to form by hand with just a little thought in advance. Some of these hand formed parts were brought for show and tell at the January membership meeting. See more photos and extensive details on 24 web pages (to date) at:
