MGB Bodywork Tech Session
April 5, 2003 - Downers Grove, IL
On a chilly day in the mid 30’s, about a dozen people (over the course of the day) gathered to either help or learn about replacing rusted body sills on Kim Tonry’s MGB GT. This started with removing a door and a front fender, including some stubborn screws which had to be drilled out. A temporary brace was tack wwelded into the door opening, and the project proceeded with lots of sparks and noise using the angle grinder to cut away the badly rusted right side body sill panels. By mid afternoon a new inside sill panel had been fitted ready for welding, but the rest of the project was suspended pending rescheduling during better weather.
