The meeting was called to order by John Schroeder at 8:03 p.m. Present were 38 members and two guests - Pat Marcus (from the Miata Club), and Sheryl Fullone.

Past Events
Wade Keene recapped the 4/23/06 autocross, with four MGs and one Triumph
Russ Mehaffey recapped the 4/30/06 Spring tour The weather was very rainy
Five cars participated in the tour of the Fox Valley region, with a stop at an Oswego winery
John S. was very complimentary about the tour (and said he found areas of his car that he didn't know leaked)
The 5/7/06 Spring Tune-Up "Party" was well-attended by 24 cars, with lunch at the Kerry Piper Pub afterward.
Upcoming Events
On 5/20/06, the Club will drive up to Road America. Wade stressed that this could be a family event. Meet at the Welcome Center in Wisconsin
The theme of the 5/26-5/28 Champagne British Car Fest will be "Return to Camelot".
John S. reminded everyone that British Car Week is 5/27-6/4 - so let's drive our cars!
The Land's End rally will be on 6/3/06 - organized (again) by Tom Josefek (to take approx. four hours). Check the CMGC web site for details (and to confirm the start venue & time) The rally will end at Curt Bork's estate in Kirkland, Ill. with a three-club (CMGC, VMGCC, BB& B) picnic. Curt stressed that while everyone is invited, he'd like an idea of those planning to attend so he can plan for the right amount of food and drink
On 6/4/06 the AHCA autocross will be held at the Cantera Theaters in Warrenville. (CMGC and their cars are invited.)
We hope to be able to hold the 6/13 Natter N Noggin at McNalley's on the patio, weather permitting.
On 6/17/06, a British Car Show will be held at the Highland Games in Oak Brook - but all cars must be pre-registered.
On 6/18/06 the British Car Show in Sussex, Wisc. will be held.
Next month's Club meeting (6/19) will be run by Wade and Wilbur, as John S. will be en route to Tenn. for the all-register meeting.
John S. provided an update on the plans for the all-register meeting (6/20-6/25), with Diana Gonzales praising him for his enthusiasm for & promotion of this convention - to much deserved applause.
An autocross will be held on 6/25/06.
On 7/9/06 the British Boots N Bonnets Club is hosting the Wings & Wheels Show at the Poplar Grove airport. A link is available on the Internet. John S. brought flyers on the event
Jake Snyder reminded everyone of this year's Road America camping trip (7/14-7/16).

Other Business
("Mr.) Bill Hedrick mentioned that the Friday evening "cruise nights" in Downers Grove will start on 5/19/06.
"Cowboy" mentioned that car shows are listed in the publication Gearhead.
Jack Feldman reported that an MG is featured on the cover of the Ill. Rules of the Road.
Jim Evans that he is giving the Club a "project car" - a '77 B - to work on that will be a good opportunity for extensive and frequent participation in an ongoing tech session. Wade had agreed to make available his facility in Homewood for the work. It will not be a full restoration. The web site will have information (dates, location). "Cowboy" suggested we keep a log of the costs and man-hours
STAFF REPORTS
Tools - Jim Evans (nothing new to report).
Library - David Lieb said no new books are in (not sure if he's got any new sandals).
Regalia - David L. Ransom, Jr. - (nothing new to report).
Webmaster - Barney spoke of the project he's undertaking where he is seeking old Driveline issues, esp. those from the '80s, to include on the web site.
Driveline - Bob Simon, the editor, said that the deadline for articles being included in our newsletter is the Sat. after the monthly Club meeting (although some may think the Club Secretary with his monthly meeting minutes is exempt).
GUEST SPEAKER
Pat Marcus, from the Windy City Miata Club, extended an invitation to the CMGC for autocross events this year.
On 6/3, 6/17, and 8/19 they will be held at the Maywood Park parking lot
On 5/20 it will be held at the College of Lake County. The cost for each event will be $20. Information is on the WCMC web site. The Club thanked Pat for this invitation and for including us.
At 9:03 we took a break. After the break, the 50/50 raffle ($22) was won by "Cowboy". The meeting adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
