Yes, it is back again this year. After taking a year off to yield to MG 2006 in Gatlinburg in the Smokey Mountains the University Motors Summer Party is on the calendar for the 2nd weekend in August. Traditionally this weekend has been very well attended by the complete variety of MG models from the entire east side of the US. And with the MGA and MGB register meetings far away on the west coast, this years edition promises to be no exception. Several hundreds of MG's ranging from MMM (pre-war), T-Types, A.B, and C's as well as Midgets and several saloons will be on the show field on Saturday. But the weekend offers more: a long distance rally starts on Thursday, Friday has vending and a huge parking lot party, and featured guest Ken Smith will speak at the banquet on Saturday evening. The featured model, the MGB LE, will be very well represented and makes the weekend a 'must' for all LE owners.

Our club has always been very active during this event. And to serve all Chicagoland MG Club members we are again planning our picnic during the car show. Usually we'll grill burgers and brats and have soda's, wine and beer. We bring the any left-over drinks to the hotel parking lot to share after the dinner. A great deal for a small $5 contribution.
