This was the second of four non-British car shows on our club’s official activity roster this year. The show cars were fantastic, a good assortment of very old classics and antiques, a few 60-70 vintage muscle cars, and very few cars with rubber bumpers. It made most of our MGs look downright modern by comparison.

Two MGs and Barney here, if you stare hard enough.

Two CMGC members were in attendance, Barney Gaylord, Naperville, ‘58 MGA Red, and Scott Kiederlen, Lake Villa, ’78 MGB Yellow.
I also found a former club member, Tony Fischer, with a car recently purchased from another former member, Maynard Hillard. This is a ’64 MGB pull handle car, some Chrysler dark metallic Green similar to BRG except metal flake, slight mods, big ram horns, no air filters, clean machine, quite nice, not concours. Tony will likely be renewing his CMGC membership very soon.
There was one other MG in attendance, a ‘47 TC, yellow, near concours condition, owned by Win Gould, a happy member of the Vintage MG Club. There were a lot of curiosity seekers and some young folks, so we may have left an impression for the next generation.
-- Drive ’em and be seen.
