September Autocross Report
We had a small showing, probably due to the fact that it either was raining or acted like it was going to any minute, depending on where you were. It spit on us a few times in Warrenville, but the weather gods allowed us to autocross in dry weather. Barney set up a nice course that allowed us to put the gas pedal to good use. The runs were short, in the 30 second neighborhood, but we got 8 runs in apiece. Once again, a good time was had by all and it was nice to see some folks from the Lotus Corps again. Results as follows:
MG Class
1st Barney Gaylord 27.640sec MGA
2nd Bill Mennell 29.092sec Bill's MGB
3rd Wade Keene 29.416sec Bill's MGB
Guest Class
1st Carl Sarro 28.527sec Lotus Europa
2nd Larry Drummond 28.687sec Late model Audi
3rd CJ Sarro 32.368sec Honda del Sol
The MG's times compare pretty favorably against the more modern and more exotic cars, I'd say. We have two more chances to get together and race before the season's over; down at the Famous Abingdon Gymkhana and at Warrenville on the 23rd. See you there. Wade.
