Go Brit Baby! - Tech Sessions
Fall Tune Down Party
November 11, 2001
The Fall Tune Down Party was a success with about 15-16 cars in attendance. It was a lovely day to be out and about in a MG. The event was held at Al Piemonte Ford and I cannot think of a nicer place to have such tech session. A big thanks to Russ Casolari and the folks at Al Piemonte for letting our club use their wonderful facilities.
We had 3 MGAs, 1 Magnette, and many MGBs and Midgets. People took this opportunity to put their cars up on lifts and change engine, tranny, and differential oil. It’s so nice to work on a car when it is on a lift - no lying on your garage floor!
There was also some carburetor tuning on SUs and a Weber. There were plenty of people around to lend a hand. We even performed another speedi-sleeve fix to a leaking rear hub on a Magnette.
After all the work, a group of us visited a local restaurant for food and drinks. The only MG breakdown was on the Magnette, which had a water pump failure. The restaurant manager being from the U.K. was sympathetic and a big fan of MGs.
These “Tune” parties are fun events and good opportunity to work and chat with other MG owners. Please stay “tuned” for upcoming information on the Spring Tune Up Party. Also, if anyone has a winter tech session in mind that they would like to schedule, please contact me.

Favorite tool of the day? The oil gun used for filling gearboxes and differentials. Looks like a grease gun without the pump handle, works like a large syringe.
