Fall Tune Down Party
at Al Piemonte Ford
November 9, 2003 - Melrose Park, IL
About two dozen MGs (and one Jaguar) were gathered for the Fall Tune Down Party. As usual, with five lifts in the Quick Lane shop at Al Piemonte Ford, we had a lot of happy cars by the end of the day. There were lots of the normal oil changes, lube jobs, steering rack refils, oil changes in gearboxes and differentials, some brake checks, and several tune ups and minor repairs in the mix. The hard luck prize of the day goes to a rubber bumper Midget with a very bad u-joint that was about to fall apart and had damaaged the propshaft (see cover photo). The new tech lesson for the day comes from Bob Brownlow who was doing an odometer check on his MGB in the parking lot, in preparation for having his speedometer recalibrated.
