Greetings to all and a Great driving season is now under way. The weather has been somewhat cooperative be not so my MGB v8. Hopefully I have most of the bugs figured out. It seems like it's always one thing or another.

This spring has been very busy with getting the cars ready to go, planting the garden and making sure the bee hives were ready for when the "Bees" arrived. Yes, that's right we've taken up Bee keeping (no pun intended). So along with my 1979 "B" and the 1977 "B" we now have "Bee" hives. Hummmm might make a good name for a MG Garage. The "B" Hive Garage! Anyway, back to the Bees I was very surprised how docile they are. When we picked up the Bees and had to transfer them into the hive I only got stung once. My own fault when I went to pick up one of the frames I mistakenly grabbed one. Hopefully Honey is on the way.

We still have a few cars to get back on the road so anyone needing help don't hesitate to ask for help. I'm heading up the South Traveling Mechanics and Cowboy (Dave Bralich) is leading the North. I'm so grateful for all who volunteered to be on these team and to give of their time and talents to help those in the club to Keep'em on The Road.

That's all I got for now. Hope to see you on the next Rally or Tour. Thanks again for all your support and encouragement in my new position as president it's more involved than anticipated.

I feel a bit like a kid at Christmas. Driving Season is finally here. We’ve already had the Spring Chicken run and the Spring tour. Thanks to our organizers. I personally enjoyed the Chicken Run but had to work so I missed the tour.

Last month I told you about how I had my pick-up truck apart in my garage. Well the saga continues. Last Friday, I noticed the steering was a bit “notchy”. I suspected bad ball joints. MGs don’t use ball joints but a lot of modern cars do. I did a little research on changing out these parts, when I discovered Toyota had recalled my truck for this very problem. On Sat I was taking my truck to the dealer to get this recall repaired. I was traveling at highway speed when the driver’s side front wheel detached. Oh boy! I was glad I had been autocrossing. Those car handling skills came into play, if only for a few short, intense seconds. I was able to avoid hitting any of the cars around me or the guard rail on the side of the road. Now I’m embroiled in a battle with Toyota and my insurance company trying to get my truck fixed.

I miss not having a truck. I have learned the hard way to look after things like recalls. Visit https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls . Enter your VIN and you will find out if there are any safety recalls over the last 15 years. Obviously, that won’t help with our MGs. But all of us have other more modern cars that this could help with. Check it out.

This month The Secrets of Jo-Davies tour, our first auto cross of the season, the Highland Games and the Land’s End rally are on the calendar. I hope to see you there.
